i see that there were no entry on this subject , so let me start the ball rolling.
I am new in investing but I had done some reading and believed I am ready to start.
I am a conservative investor, thus I read about REIT, my conclusion is that REIT is paying good divident compare to FD, furthermore, its stock prices is not volatile , so seemed to be a safe investment to me. Also given that property pricess will continue to appreciate in the long term, so I believed REIT prices will increase accordingly, of course, at slower pace than those aggressive stocks.

Is my understanding and analysis correct ?
appreciate feedback from experienced seniors here !

you are correct in your understanding of REIT, at least its the same as mine !!

I started investing in REIT 2 months ago and so far I am very happy with it, I am getting dividend from some of them and also the share prices had increased moderately !!

there is a website http://mreit.reitdata.com/ that will provide you with a lot of in financial information about all the reits in Malaysia, great source of information.

for me, before i decide on which reit to buy, i look at their dividend yeild , their current stock price vs their NAV. Obviously high yeild will be good , better still if the stock price is below its NAV, then I believed that there are more rooms for the stock price to increase to its NAV level.
